Tailoring project for women and girls in Subo community.
At the heart of this program are poor and hopeless women and girls who never had an opportunity to enter school, study and live their dreams like other girls and women in other parts of the world or whose education was cut short due to poverty, hunger, retrogressive cultural practices such as forced marriages among other challenges. These women are now wives and mothers mostly against their own will. They have to brace on, bearing the daily burden of raising children and families on their own with nothing to hold on economically to support them. It is particularly sad that even with high societal expectations on them, these women receive very little or no support at all from their husbands who by this time have married a third or fourth wife.
This program is therefore aimed at equipping these women and girls with skills in tailoring to enable them earn a living to support themselves and their families.
